![]() ![]() ![]() We make 3D prints to evaluate how it feels, tweak the 3D and then hand it off to our mechanical engineer to make the design functional. We keep iterating on the design until the whole team is super excited by it. I will briefly discuss a concept with our leadership team, get buy-in, pitch my vision to William, he sketches it, we iterate, then William models it in 3D and creates photorealistic renders in KeyShot to show the team for feedback. We have one amazing design leader, William Gordon, who previously led design at CamelBak. We don’t involve many people in the early stages of the design process. What’s unique about the design process at BlendJet? The convenience of a quick and healthy BlendJet smoothie is compelling to people, so much so that we have over 1 million customers across 195 countries. I think the choice is often between a McDonald’s drive-through and a fresh smoothie. Our customers love to use their BlendJets at work. Why has BlendJet resonated so much with people?īlendJet gives you the superpower to make and enjoy a smoothie anytime, anywhere. I felt confident that if we could build a holographic computer at my last company, we could definitely build a portable blender, and thus, BlendJet was born. He mentioned working out and buying a smoothie with a protein scoop for $7 each day, and commented that he wished he could somehow instantly have a smoothie anywhere. He asked what we were going to work on and all I knew was that I wanted to create something that would help people live longer and healthier lives. He’d spent the last decade crushing it with his own agency running social ads for some of the biggest names in Silicon Valley, so I responded confidently on a whim that I was going to work with him. When I was well enough, I reconnected with my old buddy John Zheng, and he asked what I was going to do next. ![]()
